Billy Miller, the Emmy-winning actor known for his roles in "All My Children," "General Hospital" and "The Young and the Restless," died on Friday. He was 43.
Miller "was struggling with manic depression when he died" in Austin, Texas, his manager Marnie Sparer confirmed to USA TODAY on Sunday, Miller's birthday.
His cause of death has not been released.
The Oklahoma native grew up in Texas, where he earned a degree in film at the University of Texas, Austin. "Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles. While working in the mailroom of a prominent entertainment management/production company, he decided, after encouragement (a dare) from friends, to pursue a career as an actor," Sparer wrote in announcing his death.
After securing modeling and commercial gigs, Miller landed a role on "All My Children" as Richie Novak. He would go on to make a career as a soap opera star on "The Young and the Restless," playing Billy Abbott from 2008 to 2014 and "General Hospital," playing Jason Morgan and Drew Cain from 2013 to 2019.
His role in "The Young and the Restless" earned him three Daytime Emmy awards: one for outstanding lead actor in a drama series and two for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series.
Miller starred in several other TV series including "Suits," "Ray Donovan" and "Truth Be Told." His last acting credit was a guest role on "NCIS" in 2022, according to IMDb.
In addition to his work as an actor, he was a restaurateur and owned several bars and eateries in Los Angeles.
Miller is survived by his mother Patricia and sister Megan. "He also leaves behind a great many friends and colleagues who will miss his warm personality, generous spirit and genuine kindness," Sparer wrote.
His manager asked that donations be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in the actor's honor.

Eileen Davidson, who starred alongside Miller on "The Young and the Restless," shared a photo of the two taken at a Daytime Emmy ceremony on X, formerly Twitter.
"His infectious charm and warmth left lasting impressions on all of us who were lucky enough to have him in our lives. I'm gonna miss that mischievous smile. Love you Billy," she wrote.
"All My Children" alum Rebecca Budig remembered Miller as "so kind" and "generous to a fault" in a post on Instagram. "This is a tough one."
